Forensic Evaluations: These evaluations have included court ordered, disability, workers compensation, pre-employment screening for some professions (including public safety officers, correctional officers, firefighters, police officers, clergy or candidates for ordination), fitness for duty, licensing boards (California State medical, nursing, dental, chiropractic, pharmacy boards). Procedures vary according to the question. Standards of the American Psychology Association are maintained.
Court-ordered treatment or therapy: Psychotherapeutic services are ordered by the court and sometimes by licensing boards when an infraction has occured in the course of performing professional duites. The services provided are evidence-based therapies and usually require limited form of reporting to the agency that ordered the therapy. These services have included therapy for domestic violence, substance abuse, sexual violation, child custody, co-parenting counseling, resumption of child custody, reunification therapy. Court-ordered treatment is not reliably reimbursed by insurance plans and must be paid out of pocket at the time of service.
Victims of Crime: Victim witness or Faces of Silicon Valley funded therapy is provided to qualified victims of criminal activity. These therapeutic services range from trauma therapy, individual and family therapy or referrals to other qualified providers when appropriate. The client must obtain an authorization number from Victim Witness and identify this provider prior to commencement of treatment.
